A trace from the magnet clip — is it a defect?

If after taking off the magnet clip you found the flattened piece of fur, don’t worry. After you’ve worn the garment a couple of times, it will return into its original state and you won’t be able to detect where the magnet clip used to be.
 

Why there are fingerprints left on the fur coat?

This doesn’t mean that you’ve bought a defected product. Fur is so soft that after touching it gets flattened. In order to get rid of dents, it is enough to shake the garment up or to comb it with the special comb for animal hair.
 

Should I worry if the fur coat has a slight smell of chemicals? 

Before being turned into a ready-to-wear garment, any pelt is subjected to a number of operations in the process of which it might acquire a peculiar smell. If your fur coat has a chemical smell, it means that it has gone though anti-moth processing or dry-cleaning, etc. The smell of chemicals, as a smell of freshly produced item, whether it be furniture or clothes, will disappear soon.
 

How to take a proper care of the fur coat?

Proper storage of a fur coat is the guarantee of its attractiveness for the years to come. Put the fur coat onto the broad hangers and place it in a special casing made from some breathing material into your wardrobe till the next season.  Don’t keep your fur coat in the polyethylene casing. Keep in mind that fur absorbs smells around. If you keep you fur coat without casing, it shouldn’t touch any other garments otherwise it will lose its original state.
During the winter time keep the fur coat in an open space. If there is snow or rain on the fur left, shake up the garment and dry it on the broad hangers at room temperature. Don’t dry it near the radiator or heator. 
 

How to avoid moth damage?

The worst fur enemy is moth which appears as the result of improper storage of the garment. In order to avoid it, make sure that you’ve thoroughly cleaned the garment and put it into the casing before putting it to store. This will lower the risk of moth appearance. Take out your fur coat at least once a month, since moth cannot stand fresh air and sunshine. Besides, try to air the room and wardrobe at least once a month.
There is another way of conducting moth preventive measures including such anti-moth tools as tablets, powders and fumigators, etc. They kill the moth larvae but have an unpleasant smell, that’s why you’ll have to air the fur coat well before putting it on.
 

Why the lower hem is not straight?

The lower hem of many designs is an open cut which looks not straight and wavy. This is not a defect and can be explained by a different length of fur but make sure that the lower hem from the skin side is straight.
In fact, length and density of any fur varies in different parts of the pelt. Fur is longer near the spine and shorter on the belly.
That’s why any fur coat would have parts with longer or shorter fur, unless it is sheared or plucked fur. This is hardly noticeable and your fur coat looks impeccable. 
 

Why there is flattened fur on the hooded fur coats?

Don’t panic, there is no defect. This is a peculiarity of any hooded fur coat, since the hood lies on the shoulders in a way that flattens the fur. In order to smooth it out, you simply need to use a wet brush for clothes. 
 

Why there are seams and holes on the pelt?

During the lifetime of any animal, insect bites, hairless spots, scratches and scars appear inevitably. All these spots are the seams that customers are usually suspicious of. Actually, these seams are the traces of deleting the natural defects of the pelt. For example, holes near the seam are signs of the brackets with which pelt was fixed on the wooden base. Don’t worry, these holes and seams do not affect durability of your fur coat. 
 

How to get rid of splits on the sleeves?

There are different reasons for the appearance of splits, i.e. fur goes into different directions making some spots bold:
Clogging, as the result of the absorbance of dirt and dust by any type of fur.
Greasing, the only process comparable to the long lack of hair washing procedures.
Drying out, as the result of humidity lowering, fur dries out and hairs stick together creating parting.
Splits are natural for any type of fur and can be eliminated without much effort. They appear all across the fur coat but noticeable only on the fold lines which include a collar, sleeves, hood and pleats. If splits appeared due to clogging or greasing, dry-cleaners will solve the problem. If they appeared due to drying out, comb fur with a special comb for animal hair and the problem will be solved.
 

Why there are some hairs left on the car seat?

If you regularly find fur pieces on the car seat, this doesn’t necessarily mean a bad quality of fur but can be explained by the textile car seat casings. Fabric has a cellular structure, when a person in the fur coat sits onto the car seat, the cells expand. Fur gets stuck in the cells and when the person gets up, the cellular structure returns to its original state and some fur gets stuck. To prevent this problem, make sure that you have smooth casing made of velour or leather.
 

Why fur loses color?

Fur becomes brownish or reddish due to the direct influence of sun rays or high temperature. Any fur wear out under the influence of light and humidity, its color fades and flexibility of fur reduces.
 

How to avoid fractures and bold spots?

You should be very careful while wearing the fur coat and try to avoid regular friction with other objects. That’s why we recommend you didn’t wear a purse over your shoulder or elbow. Otherwise, fractures or bold spots might appear in those places. 
 

Proper storage of fur garments 

 
If you’ve got a long fur coat and have to drive a car often, don’t overheat your seats. Fur doesn’t tolerate high temperatures and if it is regularly heated, the fur coat will be damaged. Fur will dry out, become faded and start breaking while the dried skin will start crumbling.
In order to avoid fur’s creasing and being stuck in the cellular structure of the car seat, buy smooth car seat casing (e.g. leather).
If you need to sit down while wearing a long fur coat, unbutton it up to the waist, smooth the fur out in the direction of its growth and only then take a seat.
If your fur coat or hat is wet with rain or snow, shake up the garment and dry it. Fur coats are dried at room temperature by hanging on the broad hangers.  Hats are better to put on a special cardboard circle or to put a ball of paper inside for it to keep its shape. If the garment is extremely wet (wet to the lining), bring it to a dry-cleaner’s as soon as possible.
In order not to dry the garment out and damage fur, we do not recommend you dried the garment near the radiator or heater, used a hairdryer or subjected it to the influence of direct sun rays.
Avoid unpleasant smells. Fur absorbs tobacco and fire smoke, etc.
To prevent a collar from getting greasy and dirty with perfume or toner crème, use a scarf.
