Mouton fur coat — what is it?
Mouton is finely processed sheepskin. It is processed from the best pelts of wooly breeds with smooth and shiny fur. Sheepskin is warm due to its porosity; it is resistant to bad weather conditions and humidity due to the multiple stages of tannering.
Astragan is the most valuable type of sheepskin. For its manufacture, tanners use sheepskin of highest quality with velvety silky fur. Processing of astaragan is even longer and more complicated but, as a result, thin and flexible fur is manufactured.
